Rimrock Farms got its name from the awe inspiring lava cap bluffs or “Rimrocks” that surround the area of our farm. These unique geologic features have a commanding presence when you visit the farm or are in the area as they are an ancient reminder of how our beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains were formed many millennia ago.

Rimrock Farms inaugural crop at our flagship farm was planted in 2015 in the beautiful foothills of Calaveras County. Unfortunately, our 2 other farms were destroyed that season in the devastating Butte Fire that decimated a large portion of the surrounding area. Undeterred by the loss, Rimrock Farms has persevered through challenging market and regulatory hurdles, forced local government bans on the industry, as well as the multitude of other challenges facing small farmers in today’s industry.
